-Use less heat (for example, let your hair dry naturally, instead of using a hairdryer, and put your hair in plaits, instead of curling it). While heat is a hairstyling game-changer, it can also dry out your hair cuticle and change the structure of your hair proteins.

-Try not to wash your hair every night as shampoo is designed to clean the scalp and remove excess oil. But if it's overused or if you work it all the way down the length of your hair, shampoo can damage your hair. Shampoo strips the important oils the scalp produces and can leave the hair and scalp too dry.

-Use conditioner after every shampoo, unless you use a “2-in-1” shampoo, which cleans and conditions hair. Using a conditioner can significantly improve the look of damaged or weathered hair by increasing shine, decreasing static electricity, improving strength, and offering some protection from harmful UV rays.
